Cultivating Arts & Students Together
Proctors CAST program pairs youth with Proctors volunteers to give them an in depth and entertaining learning experience about how our volunteers make the show go on! CAST members participate in a training session and volunteer during at least four performances in Proctors season.
Training: CAST members participate in a two-hour training session in the fall. Participants will meet members of Proctors staff, learn about the role of the House Manager, Production Manager, stage crew and more. They will go on a backstage tour of the Theatre to learn about its history, what happens to prepare for and during performances. They will meet some of Proctors key volunteers, learn about the various volunteer positions at Proctors and learn about what they will be doing on show nights.
Performance Night: CAST volunteers have specific assignments as ushers and working at the candy counter. The area they volunteer in will change with each performance Students watch the performance and return to their respective assignments during intermission and at the conclusion of the performance.
