It's time to stop the hiding. It's time to stand up tall.
Sing hey world, I'm different, and here I am splinters and all!
Let your freak flag wave!
Never take it down, never take it down.
Raise it way up high! Yeah! Let your freak flag fly! Let it fly, fly, fly!
-Lyrics from Shrek the Musical

The Let Your Freak Flag Fly! Art Contest is an exciting opportunity for local students to show their work at Proctors in a larger-than-life exhibition fit for an ogre!

We want you—your artwork, the stuff that makes you so… you. The stuff of brilliant paintings, photographs, sculptures, and flags is you! So paint your flags, raise them way up in the air and wave them proudly!

All forms of artwork are welcome, including paintings, digital art, 3-Dimensional work, sculpture, mixed materials and even film media. This is a great opportunity for students to showcase their individuality and uniqueness. Be inspired by the ideas, themes and images of Shrek the Musical, which teaches tolerance of weirdness, expression of individuality, and of course the immortal lesson: don’t judge an ogre by his color.

Contest and exhibition are open to public, private and home-school students grades K-12. Teachers are welcome to submit work on behalf of their students.

Winners were announced on ART NIGHT, Fri, Jan 20, 2012
