This residency, customized for your classroom, offers students playful opportunities to link literature and live performance. Using books chosen with the teacher, the Mop & Bucket Company (MopCo) will customize and implement a classroom residency. BookPlay excites students about literature and Improv for life-long learning; because life is improvised!
This is how it happens:
- A planning meeting with teachers, MopCo and Proctor¹s Education.
- An introductory performance by MopCo.
- A complete set of the selected book for the classroom.
- Curriculum Guides on Improvisation in the classroom
- Multiple workshops in the classroom focused on reading for understanding
through improvisation. Workshops can be tailored to any curricular topic including history, science, and literature. - Attendance at a related performance at proctors
- A final performance by participating students in the classroom or as a school assembly
