An Evening of Opera - The Octavo Singers

Founded in the early 1930's with WPA funds, The Octavo Sngers has a long history of bringing the classic choral tradition to Schenectady and surrounding communities.

Under the direction of George Moross the volunteer chorus will present an afternoon program of well known opera choruses with piano accompaniment by Elinore Franum. The opera choruses to be performed are:

Easter Hymn....Mascagni
Habanera....Carmen
Polovtsian Dances....Borodin
Coronation Scene....Moussourgsky
Pilgrim's Chorus....Wagner
Triumphal Scene....Verdi
Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves....Verdi
The Promise of Living ....Copeland
