Hard Hitting Songs for Hard-Hit People

An International Workers Day Concert

Fri April 27 – 7:30 pm – Underground

CHARLIE KING:

“With encouraging regularity, Charlie King emerges from his self-reflection to remind us of the happy resilience of the human spirit. His message songs vary between the funny and the frightening, but he pulls them off with unvarying taste, musical skill, and charm.”   BILLBOARD

MAGPIE:

“The qualities that have made their records and folk festival appearances much admired all over North America: the breadth of their musical tastes, the depth of their commitment to humanist ideals, the precision of their chamber-folk arrangements and, above all, the graceful sympathy of their vocal harmonies–refined over the years to an effortless rapport.”
THE WASHINGTON POST

GEORGE MANN:

Hailing from New York, his experience as a union organizer and educator shapes and enriches stories and songs about real events and the real struggle for a better life he has worked with such folk music legends as Utah Phillips, Pete Seeger and Tom Paxton, and led national tours of the US and Australia in honor of the Almanac Singers and Joe Hill.
