The Classic Theater Guild Inc. presents Christopher Durang’s Beyond Therapy. This fabulous stage play takes you into the absurdly comical world of main characters Prudence and Bruce. Looking for love in perhaps all the wrong places we watch as Prudence and Bruce place personal ads in the newspaper and meet up in a restaurant where an absolutely awful date starts the beginning of their courtship.
From Bruce’s tears at the dinner table, to his comments about Prudence’s breasts, and revealing he has a male lover at home, Prudence gets far more than she has bargained for in the dating world.
Turning to their therapists for solace and consultation, this play presents mental health professionals with far more mental troubles than their patients.
Through all the obstacles and therapy however, we learn the great almighty lesson of dating “true dysfunctional love conquers all.”
