Pipe Cleaners: The Perfect Medium - Ginger Ertz

April 22 - 29, 2008
April 22 & 29 - 6 - 9 PM

Learn about the rising use of non-traditional media – especially common, everyday materials – in contemporary art. Then, using pipe-cleaners (aka: chenille stems) and other simple materials make a small piece, learning to incorporate structural integrity with personal creative expression. Because the wire stem creates the armature and the fibers create a soft surface, pipe-cleaners offer an all-inclusive, perfect medium!

Each participant will receive materials, some size-parameters, and some pre-formed armature wire, to begin to work on their segment of a final collaborative piece and in the second session we will each finish our “module,” then collaborate to assemble a site-specific public artwork!

Opening Reception of the Coil, Twist, Cut and Paste exhibit in Robb Alley will be May 16 , 5 - 9 PM, Art Night Schenectady

Each pair of workshops is $60 including materials
Take all three classes for $150. Follow the links below to learn about the other classes.
