Monteverdi's L’ORFEO
Originally performed in 1607, this is considered by some to be the first “real opera”. This new production, performed at La Scala, tells the story of Orpheus (Georg Nigl), known as the father of songs, and his love, Eurydice (Roberta Invernizzi).
 
Sung in Italian with electronic libretto in English.
 
This opera has five acts and runs a little over 2 hours
