Founded in 1966 as the first Theatre of Ballet in Russia under the management of the People's Artist of Russia, Professor Peter Gusev, the company is now under the artistic direction of famous choreographer - People's Artist of Russia, State Prize Laureate of Russia, and Laureate to International Ballet competition - Yuri Petukhov. The company constantly extends its sphere of activity; its creativity has been accumulated over the years, and the mastery of the high traditions of Russian Ballet is being passed on to a younger generation of artists, both Russian and foreign.
