From the Hawaiian Islands to Vaudeville, Kermit the Frog to Steve Martin; from Elvis to Tiny Tim and on to Arlo - the ukulele has reappeared throughout the history of American music.
The small but mighty ukulele ("jumping fleas" in Hawaiian) has enjoyed a huge resurgence, and now you can learn to play or hone your skills!
Regional ukemeister Ron Gordon and some of the contemporary ukulele world's finest teachers gather for our first annual Electric City UkeFest. You'll find lessons for players of all levels, including Ukes R Us for kids; expect great workshops from blues to Hawaiian guitar to uke in old-timey music.
There's a 2 1/2 hour Open Mic and Fleabag! - the gala evening concert by festival performers. Bring a uke or browse our vendors!
Whether you've never picked up a uke, want to play blues on the uke or just want to hear the concert, UkeFest is for you!
