ICFS presents The Soul Cinema 2012 Film Series
sponsored by  Price Chopper

Two event nights celebrating African American Art and Culture through film and live performances. Tonight: Cadillac Records (2008) written and directed by Darnell Martin.

The film explores the musical era from the early 1940's to the late 1960's, chronicling the life of the influential Chicago-based record company executive Leonard Chess and the musicians who recorded for Chess Records one of the first labels to bring black musicians to the mainstream.

The film stars Adrien Brody as Leonard Chess, Cedric The Entertainer as Willie Dixon,  Mos Def as Chuck Berry, Jeffrey Wright as Muddy Waters and Beyonce Knowles as Etta James. Cadillac Records is a powerful film and the music-most of it performed by the actors themselves --is rich and soul-stirring ROCK & ROLL.

As with all ICFS movie events, prizes, surprises, special guests and comfy couches will be part of the party.
