“Devilishly funny...fuses myth with modern culture, Persephone with Botox”      CORNELL FOLKSONG

Wainwright: "That regal voice could fell a redwood”   BOSTON GLOBE

An exciting evening with two richly talented, award-winning singer-songwriters, who often intersect at such master performance and songwriting camps as Swannanoa Gathering and Puget Sound.

COSY SHERIDAN writes about wide-ranging subjects like the stock market crash of 2008, fall-out from uranium mining in the American southwest, and funny parodies on aging and women. She re-writes Greek myth whence, for instance, Persephone runs away with Hades the biker. All-in-all, she writes love songs for adults and practical philosophy for a complicated world. Her impeccable distinctive percussive guitar style magnifies her lyrical dexterity.

She's a top songwriting winner at both Kerrville Folk Festival and Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Her latest CD, "Pretty Bird" (2014) charted in the Top 100 songs of 2014 on American radio’s "Folk DJ" list, and was named as one of  Sing Out! magazine’s “Great CDs of 2014.”

SLOAN WAINWRIGHT boasts a striking contralto, unique songwriting ability and an easy command of pop, folk, jazz and blues that binds together the richly sultry tones of her voice.

Seven solo CDs to her credit, she has appeared with such luminaries as Tom Paxton, Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin, Rufus Wainwright, and Martin Sexton. Her family tree (brother and folk-music luminary Loudon Wainwright, nephew Rufus Wainwright, nieces Martha Wainwright and Lucy Wainwright Roche) reads like a "Who’s Who" of contemporary folk music. But Wainwright's pedigree shows in her own fine songwriting and dramatically  renditions of original songs.

“Her melodies are the tantalizing equivalent of smoky aromas emanating from a soul kitchen"    iTUNES
