Upstate New York-based Festival Cinema Invisible (FCI) continues its monthly series exploring Persian Culture through film and dialog with a film screening, live musical performance and a panel discussion with one of the documentary subjects at Proctor’s GE Theatre on Sunday, November 22nd at 4pm.

The night will begin with a performance of international music from capital region group, KoriSoron. The evening will also provide a rare screening of two short documentaries by director Mojtaba Mirtahmasb that share common themes of music and censorship in Iran.

"Back Vocal” (Sedaye Dovom - 40 mins.) explores the prohibition of female solo singing in Iran, and tells the story of female vocalists struggling to be heard 24 years after the Islamic Revolution.

In “Off Beat” (Saze Mokhalef - 45 mins.), a group of fans hold an internet contest for underground rock bands in response to restrictions on performing rock music in Iran. Following the screening, Farzad Golpayegani, who is featured in this documentary, will be present at the theater as part of a panel to discuss his experience.

Persian style tea and sweets are also included in the $10 admission. Tickets are available at the Proctor's Box Office.

The FCI series will culminate in a three-day festival of Persian language film at Proctor’s GE Theatre on the weekend of April 1st 2016.
