Sense And Sensibility - Trailer

Proctors at 90: Nine Decades of Cinema
SENSE AND SENSIBILITY (1995)
When Elinor Dashwood's (Emma Thompson) father dies, her family's finances are crippled. Though taken in by a kindly cousin, their lack of family fortune affects the marriageability of both practical Elinor and romantic Marianne (Kate Winslet).  Elinor grows attached to the wealthy Edward Ferrars (Hugh Grant), but their relationship meets the disapproval of his family who are intent upon separating  them.  And though efforts are made to match the worthy (and rich) Colonel Brandon (Alan Rickman) to Marianne, she finds the dashing and fiery John Willoughby (Greg Wise) more to her liking. Rated PG for mild thematic elements.  136 minutes.
