SPENCERS THEATRE OF ILLUSION TO PERFORM ON THE MAINSTAGE AT PROCTORS ON SUNDAY, MARCH 30, 2008 AT 2PM.
Schenectady, NY- Spencers Theatre of illusion is scheduled to perform on the mainstage at Proctors on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at 2pm.
Things aren’t always what they seem, especially when the magic of illusion is involved.
Master magicians, Kevin and Cindy Spencer, will bring their cutting-edge illusions, choreography, comedy, scenery, lighting and music to the area, in a production called “Theatre of Illusion.”
Critics have compared the Spencers to David Copperfield and the late Doug Henning.
In January of 2003, the Spencers “vanished” the Stanley Cup for the National Hockey League as a kickoff to the NHL All-Star Weekend in Fort Lauderdale, FL, making magic and sports history. They did, however, make the cup reappear, along with Hockey Hall of Fame legend Larry Robinson.
And in January 2006, they made Audio Adrenaline, contemporary Christian music artists; appear before a cheering throng of 8,000 fans.
With one of the largest touring illusion companies in the United States, the Spencers transport more that 12 tons of state-of-the-art illusions and special effects from city to city.
The Spencers high-tech stage show includes dazzling special effects and cutting-edge illusions and sidesplitting comedy.
They have spent more than a decade defining the art of illusion by infusing magic with movement and cloaking it in music and physical expression.
As a storyteller uses words to captivate an audience, the Spencers combine scenery, music, lighting, special effects, audience interaction and illusions to produce a powerful theatrical experience for the entire family.
The Spencers work with some of the leading inventors, creators and builders in the industry to incorporate original never-before-seen illusions into their production.
They have been named Performing Arts Entertainers of the Year six times, sharing the title with only one other magician, David Copperfield, and holding the title longer than any other performer.
The Spencers have performed throughout the United States, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Mexico, New Zealand, Canada, and Australia.
