Don’t miss the highly anticipated eighth edition of the largest continuing gospel celebration in the Capital Region, Gospel Jubilee!

This annual event will bring great joy and uplifting music to all in attendance. Highlighted this year will be our special musical guests, Emtro Gospel Recording Artist/Owner, Troy Sneed, the Buffalo Academy of Visual Performing Arts Vocal Symphony conducted by Karen Saxon and a tribute to the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin.

Gospel Jubilee features the Jubilee Mass Choir under the musical direction of Reverend Elgin Joseph Taylor, Sr. and the Jubilee Praise Dancers coordinated by Demetris Barrett.

The Buffalo Academy of Visual and Performing Arts Vocal Symphony is one of Western New York’s premier choral organizations. Our repertoire spans several styles including, but not limited to: classical, jazz, gospel, R & B and show tunes. We have a standing performance partnership with the Grammy Award-winning Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus. We were featured internationally when we performed the American and Canadian Anthems for our beloved Buffalo Sabres (telecast on WMSG live). Further, we were hand-selected to sing our National Anthem at Governor Mario Cuomo’s State of the State Address in 2016. We were also proud to take our place in history as the only high school choral ensemble ever selected to perform at the Naval commissioning of the U.S.S. Little Rock in December 2017. Under the direction of Mrs. Karen Saxon, BAVPA Vocal Symphony has won first place in the regional mixed choir competition at Darien Lake in 2017 and 2018. In October 2018, we held the dubious honor of being one of the featured choirs to perform with Broadway professionals during the inaugural performance of Starring Buffalo’s Concert performance of the concert version of Disney’s, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” alongside various Broadway performers. We are grateful to add to our extensive resume being a featured artist in the 8th Annual Gospel Jubilee on April 12, 2019.
