Relieve your stress and join us for a special Bend and Brew, a dynamic class featuring yoga and craft beer on Thursday, Jan. 31.
The event benefits “Healing Schoharie,” a grassroots effort to help families of the victims and first responders of the deadly limousine crash Oct. 6 in Schoharie. All 18 people in the limousine were killed, along with two pedestrians. It was the country’s worst transportation-related accident in nearly a decade.
Join yoga instructor Karen Radley and Mary Clare O’Connor, owner of Yoga Bliss for a one-hour class beginning at 6 p.m. in the newly renovated Covenant Hall at the First Reformed Church of Schenectady in the city’s Stockade neighborhood.
All skill levels, including beginners, are welcome. Must be 21.
Participants are asked to bring a yoga mat and water. A limited number of mats will be available.
After class, we will head across the street to the Stockade Inn to enjoy craft beer courtesy of Mad Jack Brewing Co.
The cost for the class is $20, which includes your first beer. Space is limited. Registration is required.
Special thanks to the First Reformed Church of Schenectady, Stockade Inn, Mad Jack Brewery at The Van Dyck and Proctors for their generosity.
On Oct. 28, more than a thousand people turned out for “Healing Schoharie,” a benefit concert at Mohawk Harbor in Schenectady that featured local musical favorites Skeeter Creek and Grand Central Station. The event raised more than $43,000.
Bend and Brew is a continuation of those efforts.
