Cinema Other!
ICFS presents films from the American Genre Film Archive
Shot in Ukraine, Russia and the United Kingdom, this 3rd entry born from It Came From Schenectady’s partnership with AGFA  has been acclaimed as “visually amazing” (Videoscope), “deeply disturbing” (BBC Radio One) and “a must see for serious horror buffs” (Film Review).  Tortured by horrible visions from her childhood, a young Englishwoman travels to a primitive island seeking the truth about her dark past.  What she finds – a convent housing a malevolent order of nuns – unlocks an unholy communion of torment and blasphemy.  As with other ICFS events, expect prizes, surprises, comfy couches and delirious drink specials!  English language version.   Rated R.   94 minutes.

A wonderfully dark supernatural affair, which takes visual cues from luminaries such as Argento and Bava.  [It further] mixes the world of ’70s religious horror with the dark cosmic terror of H.P. Lovecraft to create something utterly spectacular.     – EuroCultAV
