A look at the roots of L.A.’s historic Laurel Canyon music scene, featuring the music of iconic groups such as The Byrds, The Beach Boys, Buffalo Springfield, and The Mamas and the Papas. Taking the songs from the era as an entry point, Jakob Dylan and a new generation of artists – including Beck, Fiona Apple, Norah Jones, and others – interpret and perform the songs, in many cases in front of the songwriters. Also performing and or speaking in this documentary are Tom Petty, Brian Wilson, Eric Clapton, Ringo Starr, Stephen Stills, Roger McGuinn, Michelle Phillips, David Crosby, Graham Nash, Jackson Browne, and John Sebastian.  Rated PG-13 for drug references and some suggestive content.  82 minutes.
