“Blonde Venus” is a part of the collaboration with Union College Film Studies titled “Breaking the Rules: Great Women of the Pre-Code Era,” curated by Professor Jenelle Troxell. Professor Troxell and her colleagues will introduce several Pre-Code Hollywood classics and participate in an informed Q&A about each film immediately afterward.
 
This film’s Q&A will be led by Union College’s Erika Nelson Mukherjee, Professor of German/Director of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. This film is also a part of “Focus on the Cinema of Marlene Dietrich and Josef von Sternberg” Movie Series.
 
Synopsis: A nightclub singer (Marlene Dietrich) becomes a playboy’s (Cary Grant) mistress to support her son and ailing husband (Herbert Marshall).
