Nominated for Best Picture and Best Actor (Daniel Kaluuya), as well as Best Director and Best Original Screenplay (both Jordan Peele), GET OUT is a satire starring Kaluuya and Allison Williams (TV’s Girls) as Chris and Rose, a couple who have reached the meet-the-parents milestone in their relationship, meaning it’s time for the young African-American male to meet his white girlfriend’s parents for the very first time. Invited to a secluded weekend family getaway in the woods of upstate New York, Chris initially reads her family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with his race. As the weekend progresses, however, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a horrifying truth he never could have imagined. Also starring Catherine Keener and Bradley Whitford. 104 minutes. Rated R for violence, bloody images, and language including sexual references.
