King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard is one of the most popular, innovative and critically acclaimed rock bands. They are also one of the most productive, having released 20 studio albums in 10 years, with 10 of these being chart toppers. Stemming from Australia, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard have attracted international acclaim while packing international tours for many years.
“Chunky Shrapnel” (2020) is their feature-length live music documentary. Literally bringing their audiences onto the stages of their 2019 European tour, “Chunky” offers viewers a unique immersive experience never before captured on film…a musical road movie dipped in turpentine!
“Sleeping Monster” (2022) captures the band members building their new studio and recording the album “Changes.” They began working on the album in 2017 but did not complete it until October 2022. “Australia had one of the most strict lockdowns in the world,” Gizzard frontman Stu Mackenzie says. “But there were a few ways to legally get together, one of which was to make a film, so that’s what we did. We spent a lot of that period just filming and documenting everything as we recorded.”
