The director of the Oscar-nominated 45 Years (Andrew Haigh) delivers another miracle of a movie, this time about a homeless teenager (Charlie Plummer) who lands a summer job caring for a fading racehorse named Lean On Pete. Learning of Pete’s fast-approaching fate, the young man runs away with the horse on an odyssey across the American frontier in search of a place to call home. Also starring Amy Seimetz, Steve Buscemi, Travis Fimmel and Chloë Sevigny. Rated R for language and brief violence. 122 minutes.
