ICFS MUSIC presents

You’ve haven’t seen METROPOLIS until you’ve seen it on our GIANT GE Theatre screen!  Plus, due to EXTRAORDINARY popular demand, the Andrew Alden Ensemble returns to Proctors with an exciting new original score for this iconic science-fiction silent classic.  Directed by Fritz Lang in 1927, and stunningly restored to its original length, this highly-influential film presents a stylized futuristic city where a beautiful and cultured utopia exists above a bleak underworld populated by mistreated workers. When a privileged young man from up top discovers the grim scene below, he – against the wishes of an authoritarian father – decides that he, must try to help the workers.  Along the way, he will also befriend an attractive and rebellious young teacher.

Mixing the sensibilities of classical chamber music with the distinct edge of rock, the Andrew Alden Ensemble have thrilled Proctors’ audiences on previous visits with original scores for NosferatuNight of the Living DeadThe Lost World and Haxan: Witchcraft Through the Ages.  Not Rated.  148 minutes.
