Silent w/Live original score performed by the ANDREW ALDEN ENSEMBLE
F.W. Murnau’s unauthorized adaptation of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, is widely acknowledged a horror masterpiece, while also revered as one of the scariest Dracula adaptations ever made.
The mysterious Count Orlok summons Thomas Hutter, a real estate agent, to his remote Transylvanian castle in the mountains. Upon arriving, Hutter learns that the eerie Orlok seeks to buy a house very near the home he shares with his beloved wife, Ellen. A deal is sealed, but Orlok soon reveals his vampire nature, and – realizing Ellen could be in grave danger – Hutter struggles to escape the castle, even as Orlok’s servant, Knock, makes preparations for his ever-thirsting Master to travel to his brand new home. Max Schreck, Gustav von Wangenheim, and Greta Schroeder star.
