Join Proctors at The Landing Hotel at Rivers Casino for a one of a kind fundraiser! Participants will have the opportunity to rappel down The Landing Hotel building; all proceeds will go towards the School of the Performing Arts at Proctors. Help us reach our mission through arts and community leadership to be a catalyst for excellence in education, sustainable economic development and rich civic engagement to enhance the quality of life in the greater Capital Region.  

Support Over the Edge by donating to an individual or team who is already fundraising to rappel on September 1. 

Your donation will go to: 

  1. Funding over $130,000 in scholarships delivered annually to students who need financial support to attend educational classes, workshops and summer programs. 
  2. Bringing 27,500 patrons, across 14 counties and neighboring states, to participate in the programs offered through the School of the Performing Arts. 
  3. Supporting the workforce development in the creative economy by hiring over 50 well-trained adjunct professionals to teach the students. 
  4. Enhancing the arts curriculum that brings over 300 area schools to Proctors every year to experience events and live performances. 

Where to Start:  

Pick the level of participation that is right for you! 

Individuals: To go Over the Edge, participants must raise a minimum of $1000. The majority of fundraising is done online through our donation portal.  

Company Teams: Three or more employees from a business or organization rappel, with each raising $1000 or more. All company teams will receive event day recognition.  

Toss The Boss: Send your (willing) boss Over the Edge by raising a minimum of $1500. Rally your co-workers to make it a company-wide effort to raise funds and see your boss take that big step over the side of The Landing Hotel! Companies that participate in Toss The Boss will receive event day recognition.

Event FAQ’s  

-An Over the Edge event is for all ages. If you are under the age of 18 and would like to participate please have a parent or guardians signature on the legal waiver. 

-Over The Edge’s equipment safety standards require that people must be between 100lbs and 300lbs in order to safely rappel. 

-There will be a $50 registration fee in addition to a $1000 minimum fundraised in order to rappel. 

-You will be rappel 6 stories! That’s 68 Feet!  

-Unfortunately, the roof is a restricted access area. Friends and family will not be allowed up to the rooftop.  

-It will take 5 to 15 minutes to get to the bottom. 

Event Prep: 

-No experience necessary! Over the Edge will train participants how to use the descender and back-up device, the two pieces of equipment they will need to use during their rappel.

-Dress comfortably! Do not wear overly loose or baggy clothing, or clothing with long drawstrings. Wear soft-soled, close-toed shoes or sneakers. No sandals, slip-on shoes, slippers, flip flops, high heels, or steel toed boots will be allowed. 

-Many people choose to wear costumes for their rappel. All costumes will need to meet the same standards as listed above. Capes will have to be approved by the Site Safety Supervisor for the main rappel. 

-Sorry, no phones, cameras, etc. on the roof. Helmet cams that operate hands-free are permitted if you have one and want to bring it. You must supply the mounting system. Go-Pro cameras are approved; all others will require preapproval. 

Personal Responsibility Statement: Proctors prides itself on offering a diverse selection of arts entertainment. Not all productions may appeal to or be appropriate for every person or for all ages. Patrons are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the shows we offer in order to make informed decisions prior to purchasing tickets.
