For our 50th Anniversary, we will fill Proctors with Black Art and Culture. The day of celebration will include a mixture of paid and free events; local and national talent. Offerings include a Sci Fi film festival. Musical performances include the world-renowned Jazz Artist, Hannibal Lokumbe, protest singer, Tiana Asili Y la Bande Rebalde and Super Jermaine. A family of performers including Diata Diata Folklore Theatre and African Dance Drum and Storytelling group, Lady Moon and the Eclipse, a neo soul group and Young Paris from Roc Nation and Afropunk will take us on a journey of Congolese influenced music from ancient to modern times. The Play “For Colored Girls who have considered Suicide when the Rainbow Was Enuf” will be presented by a local community theater group and there will also be a Poetry slam, a Fashion show, Art exhibit, local bands and workshops.

Tickets are $25 for all main stage events, $10 for the sci fi film festival, $30 combo tickets. Free activities include Poetry Slam, Art Exhibit, Fashion Show, Drum Circle, Vendors, workshops and more! Children attend free with an adult.
