“One of the most innovative songwriters writing today” CHICAGO TRIBUNE
Onstage, she’s electrifying, innovative and downright fun, and as a songwriter, Susan Werner has done it again! The woman NPR named “Empress of the Unexpected” has brought forth another unique album.
A triple-threat writer, singer and musician, Werner has ranked as one of the most prolific singer/songwriters in the United States since her 1995 major label debut. Her albums, including 2007’s The Gospel Truth and 2013’s Hayseed, have won her passionate fans from coast to coast, interviews on NPR’s “Morning Edition” and Marian McPartland’s “Piano Jazz,” and inspired covers from Tom Jones, Michael Feinstein and Betty Buckley, among others. She’s composer and lyricist for the forthcoming Broadway show “Bull Durham, The Musical,” based on the iconic MGM film. Meanwhile, she tours nationally and has played every major acoustic festival – and has introduced every fabulous album live at The Step.
We’ve got her for one fabulous, very LIVE and intimate show. Join us!
“When it comes to crafting a song, Ms. Werner’s only peers are Jimmy Webb and Paul Simon” – NO DEPRESSION
