Oscar Nominee! Special Presentation!

DARKEST HOUR

Gary Oldman’s uncanny portrayal of Winston Churchill is all but universally agreed to have made him the lead contender for this year’s BEST ACTOR Oscar.  Within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britain, Churchill must decide whether to enter into a negotiated peace with Nazi Germany, or stand firm against impossible odds to fight for the ideals and freedom of his nation.  With the threat of an invasion of Dunkirk imminent, and with his own party plotting against him, Churchill must either give in to political pressure or rally an unprepared nation against the unstoppable Nazi forces who have rolled across Western Europe toward Dunkirk.  Nothing less than the fate of the world lies in the balance.  Rated PG-13 for some thematic material.  125 minutes.
