Forty years after the death of Elvis Presley, famed documentarian Eugene Jarecki (Why We Fight) takes an astounding road trip through The King’s life inside of Elvis’s famed ’63 Rolls Royce. Traveling from his birthplace in Tupelo, Mississippi, to Memphis, New York City, Hollywood, Las Vegas and even the German town where Pvt. Presley was stationed while in the Army, Jarecki is joined by a colorful tapestry of both luminaries and unknown Americans, inviting them to discuss Elvis’s life, sing the blues, and/or sentimentally compare The King’s journey to that of America’s. With Alec Baldwin, Chuck D., Emmylou Harris, Ethan Hawke, James Carville, Greil Marcus, Mike Myers, Van Jones, John Hiatt, Linda Thompson, Ashton Kutcher and many more. Rated R for language, some disturbing images and brief drug use. 107 minutes.
