Each year, wild mustangs are rounded up and trained by prisoners in order to be placed on auction.  Roman Coleman, a maximum-security convict, wants no part of the program, but his bullheadedness is slowly softened with the help of an ill-tempered horse trainer (Bruce Dern) and a fellow convict (Jason Mitchell).  Director Laure de Clermont and Executive Producer Robert Redford have truly created a small miracle of a movie here.  Matthias Schoenaerts (Red Sparrow; The Danish Girl) is absolutely terrific as Coleman, never hitting either a false note or a cloying one.  Rated R for language, some violence and drug content.  96 minutes.
